Hay Day is a farming and management game where you can build your own countryside farm, grow crops, raise animals, produce goods, and trade with other characters and players. The game combines everyday farm activities with exploration, customization, and social features, giving you plenty of ways to develop your land at your own pace.

You begin by creating and managing your farm, planting crops and caring for animals. As your farm grows, you can unlock additional production buildings, expand your activities, decorate your land, and explore different areas beyond the main farm. The overall experience is centered around building a productive farm while deciding how you want it to look and how you want to manage its resources.

Grow Crops and Build Your Farm

Farming is one of the main activities in Hay Day. You can prepare plots, plant crops such as wheat and corn, harvest them, and replant seeds to continue producing resources. Some of the crops you grow can be used as ingredients for other goods, while others can be traded or sold.

As you make progress, your farm can become more than a collection of fields. You can add production buildings such as a Bakery, BBQ Grill, Sugar Mill, Sewing Machine, Loom, and Cake Oven. These facilities allow you to turn farm resources into different products, including baked goods and clothing items.

Developing your farm is a gradual process. You can choose which areas to improve and use the available space to create a layout that works for you.

Raise Animals and Care for Pets

Animals are an important part of the farm. You can raise chickens, horses, cows, and other farm animals, providing them with the care they need to produce useful resources. These resources can then become ingredients for products or be used in trades and orders.

Hay Day also includes smaller pets that can become part of your farm, including puppies, kittens, and bunnies. Having different animals around the farm gives the countryside setting more character and adds another activity alongside growing crops and producing goods.

The combination of farming and animal care means there is always something to manage as your farm continues to develop.

Produce Goods and Trade

Once you have crops and animal products available, you can use them to create goods and participate in the game’s trading system. Your products can be sold through different methods, including truck deliveries, steamboat orders, and your Roadside Shop.

Trading gives you a practical reason to keep your fields productive and your production buildings active. You can decide which resources to keep, which products to make, and which items to offer for trade.

Coins and experience are part of the progression system, helping you continue developing your farm and unlocking additional possibilities as you play.

Customize Your Countryside Farm

Hay Day also gives you the freedom to personalize your farm. You can use different decorative items to create a countryside setting that matches your preferred style.

Instead of simply focusing on production, you can spend time arranging your buildings, fields, animals, and decorations to create a farm that feels like your own. As your available space and collection of items grow, you can continue changing the layout and improving different areas.

This combination of management and decoration makes the farm more personal, allowing you to balance practical decisions with creative choices.

Explore the Fishing Lake, Town, and Valley

There is more to explore beyond your main farm. At the Fishing Lake, you can repair your dock and go fishing, adding another activity to the farming and trading experience.

The Town provides another area to develop. After repairing the train station, you can fulfill orders from visitors and continue working toward the growth of your farm’s wider community.

The Valley offers additional activities that can be experienced with friends, including seasonal events. Together, these locations give you different environments to visit when you want a break from managing crops and animals on your main farm.

Play and Trade With Friends

Hay Day includes social features that allow you to interact with other players. You can join a neighborhood or create your own, with neighborhoods supporting up to 30 players. Members can exchange resources, share tips, and help one another with different farming and trading activities.

Neighborhoods also provide access to weekly Derby events where players can compete by completing tasks and work toward rewards. This adds a cooperative and competitive element to the otherwise relaxed farming experience.

Whether you prefer managing your farm independently or enjoying the social side of the game, you can choose how much you want to interact with other players.

A Farming Game With Different Ways to Play

Hay Day brings together crop farming, animal care, production, trading, exploration, customization, fishing, and multiplayer features. You can focus on growing crops and producing goods, spend time decorating your farm, explore the Fishing Lake and Town, or work with your neighborhood to complete activities.

The game is free to download and play, although optional in-app purchases are available, including purchases that may contain random items. A network connection is required to play. Optional permissions may also be requested within the game, such as camera access for scanning QR codes and notifications related to the game.

With its combination of farming routines, production systems, trading opportunities, animal care, exploration, and social activities, Hay Day provides a flexible farm-management experience where you can gradually turn a small piece of countryside into a developed and personalized farm.
